Man City vs Blackpool: The Citizens Win 4-1, Ilkay Gundogan Makes a Brace
Manchester City managed to beat Blackpool 4-1 on Wednesday 4 August 2021. This match was held at the Etihad Stadium, Samuel Edozie and Riyad Mahrez both scored one goal each, and meanwhile Ilkay Gundogan managed to score two goals.
This match at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City appeared to attack from the early minutes. Blackpool's goal was broken in the third minute by a goal from Edozie.
Blackpool continued to get a penalty kick because Ruben Dias violated Shayne Lavery. Luke Garbutt managed to execute a penalty kick well and managed to make it 1-1.
Manchester City continued to press into the defense from Blackpool through Joao Cancelo and Ilkay Gundogan, but until the first half finished there were no additional goals.
Entering the second half, Ilkay Gundogan managed to score a successful goal to welcome a pass from Mahrez in the 58th minute, he kicked the ball that went down the right corner of the Blackpool goal.
Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace and put Manchester City 4-1 ahead in the 75th minute. He managed to find the net after getting a through ball from Cancelo.
This 4-1 position lasted until the second half ended. This match is the last pre-season game for Pep Guardiola's men before entering the new season of the English Premier League.
Manchester City will play against Leicester City in the Community Shield this weekend.
