PPKM in Java and Bali again Extended until 6 September 2021
President Joko Widodo has officially announced the PPKM period. The President has again extended the period of implementation of PPKM starting from August 31 to September 6, 2021. A total of 25 districts and cities are still implementing PPKM Level 4.
President Jokowi said that the positivity rate has decreased in the past week. The bed occupancy rate at the Covid-19 Hospital has also decreased in a week.
"So for this week's PPKM period, the Jabodetabek, Greater Surabaya, Greater Bandung, Malang Raya and Solo Raya areas are at level 3. Meanwhile, Semarang Raya has managed to reach level 2," said Jokowi.
This week's PPKM began gradually loosening restrictions on community activities. Such as face-to-face schools in the PPKM level 3 area, technical preparation for national assessments, opening of places of worship to shopping centers.
The government emphasized that PPKM will always be implemented as long as Covid-19 is still a pandemic. PPKM is a government strategy to balance health and economic aspects.
Regarding the aspect of determining the PPKM level in each region, the situation and conditions of Covid-19 transmission are adjusted. The lower or lower the PPKM level, the community's life will be closer to normal life.
