President Jokowi: Officially Extending PPKM until August 30, 2021, There Are Some Regions That Dropped To Level 3

 

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has officially extended the period of implementation of PPKM in Java and Bali, this extension is valid from August 24 to August 30, 2021. In some areas the level has started to drop, namely level 3.

President Jokowi said that the area whose status was downgraded to level 3 was implemented in the Jabodetabek agglomeration areas, Greater Bandung, Greater Surabaya and several other areas. The reason for lowering the PPKM level is because in several regions in Indonesia the Covid-19 trend has started to decline since the peak time, namely July 15, 2021. Then the recovery rate is also increasing. The Covid-19 trend has decreased to 78 percent and for the national BOR at 33 percent.

President Jokowi reminded that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet, the public is asked to remain vigilant to implement strict health protocols. Several countries are experiencing a third wave, resulting in a significant increase in Covid-19 cases.
